The challenge was to create a website capable of holding a very large and diverse body of work without reducing it to a conventional portfolio.
The project focused on structure, visual rhythm and ease of discovery: giving individual works room to breathe while allowing visitors to move naturally between series, media and different periods of the artist’s practice.
As part of the project, Sensemanufacture also photographed a selection of Armano’s paintings and carefully edited the images to reproduce their colour, texture and overall appearance as faithfully as possible on screen.
We also created interior mockups placing selected works in architectural and domestic settings, helping visitors understand their scale, presence and relationship to space. These contextual views complement the neutral artwork documentation without replacing it.
Accurate representation of the original works was treated as an essential part of the website rather than simply as content preparation.
Behind the public website is a dedicated CMS designed for direct use by the artist. It allows new works, series, texts and visual material to be added and organised independently, so the site can continue to evolve as part of the artistic practice rather than remain a static archive.
Sensemanufacture developed the website architecture, interface and visual direction, organised the content, integrated the multilingual structure and prepared the site for search visibility and long-term development.
The result is a restrained, image-led platform that keeps the work central while giving the artist direct control over an expanding digital archive.
